The 喵咪社区 (IASP) and Musculoskeletal Pain SIG is delighted to announce that Dr.鈥疐lorian Bailly, rheumatologist and head of the Pain Center at Piti茅鈥慡alp锚tri猫re Hospital in Paris, has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Musculoskeletal Pain Special Interest Group (SIG) Exchange Award.
This award is designed to support early鈥慶areer researchers by providing financial assistance so they can collaborate with a host institute on musculoskeletal pain research. The award helps recipients gain new skills, build independent collaborations and accelerate their professional growth.
Dr.鈥疊ailly is a clinician and researcher whose work bridges epidemiology, clinical medicine and pain science. His research expertise spans:
- Chronic low back pain and postoperative pain
- Chronic musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain
- Responsible use of opioids and gabapentinoids
- Health鈥慶are access for people living with pain
Dr.鈥疊ailly has coordinated numerous studies on pharmacological and non鈥憄harmacological management of chronic pain, including development of French national guidelines for low back pain. He is currently a PhD candidate in epidemiology at Sorbonne University鈥檚 Pierre Louis Institute of Epidemiology and Public Health, where he is analyzing trends in opioid consumption and opioid鈥憆elated hospitalizations. His upcoming postdoctoral work will examine how health鈥慶are access influences opioid use.
