The 5th SCPSC will feature an innovative program reflecting the evolving fields of palliative oncology and psycho-oncology, uniting leading researchers from around the world. Palliative care is entering a new era of research and clinical practice.
Four core symposia are planned:
1. opioids (Drs. Portenoy & Hui),
2. palliative cancer treatments including immunotherapy (Drs. El-Jawahri & Nakagawa),
3. psycho-oncology (Drs. Stiefel, Dauchy & Zimmermann), and
4. euthanasia (Drs. Deliens & Currow).
General topic presentations will be divided into oral and poster sessions, along with expert-led educational discussions.
We are honored to host Dr. Karen Steinhauser鈥檚 lecture on 鈥淐omparative Cultural Studies of Spirituality and Spiritual Care,鈥� and a special lecture by Dr. Herwig Czech on 鈥淭he Lancet Commission on Medicine, Nazism, and the Holocaust,鈥� offering deep insights into medicine and today鈥檚 global challenges.
